Botch Games Podcast

Hey look, we still have a show! We're back from our hiatus and ready to roll with lots of new content! In this very fun episode, Craig is first joined by Erin and Tyler to wrap up all their Craig Con plays and hanging out with friends near and far. In the infamous third segment, Matt and Eric stop by and we lament our Gen Con absence while also talking about the interesting marketing maneuvers happening in board games in conjunction with Gen Con and also dish a little bit about the Fear Of Missing Out. We also run a contest for a copy of Rocky Road A La Mode from Green Couch games thank to the Punchboard Media Summer of Giveaways! Listen for details! In this episode, Craig also issues a retraction for some insensitive and ignorant comments in episode 75. He's got a big dumb mouth, and has been sufficiently flogged.

In the SEVENTY-FIFTH EVER episode, Craig forgets for the entire show to mention that we're 3/4 of the way to the big 100...  But in serious news, Craig is, as always joined by the fam to talk about our plays over the past two weeks. In the third segment, Craig is joined by a VERY SPECIAL guest for a change-up pitch of a segment. Instead of the typical roundtable discussion, Craig and guest review two preview games: Raxxon from Plaid Hat and Before the Earth Explodes from Green Couch! Who knew people trusted any of us with reviewing their games before release! Also be sure to listen for a chance to win a Raxxon code, where you can help save humanity from the evils of the Raxxon Corporation.

In episode 74, Craig is back once again to bring useless chatter to your earbuds. In this episode, he is joined by his lovely family, Erin and Tyler to talk about the so few, so so few, games they've played over the past two weeks. In the third segment, Craig is joined to two first timers from the What Did You Play This Week Podcast, Derek and Jamie to dig deep into connecting with the community, raising your children as board gamers, and lashing out against board game weight shamers. Haters gonna hate, but the discussion tells you why you shouldn't!

In episode 73, Craig is joined by Tyler and Erin, each in their own segments, to talk about the two weeks surrounding Origins 2017. In Tyler's section, He talks for ALMOST FORTY WHOLE MINUTES about the games he played at the con. If you thought that Tyler was a one trick pony, YOU WERE WRONG MY FRIEND! In the infamous third segment, Erin sits with Craig to talk about her weeks in games sans Craig before Craig himself debriefs over his week at Origins. BE WARNED! The segment is very stream of consciousness and highly introspective between the two of them. As a wrap up, we had a blast seeing and playing with everyone, and we can't wait until next year (but Craig has to be more emotionally prepared). SEE YOU NEXT TIME SUCKERS!

In this episode Craig is joined by both family and friends to talk about his medical condition: gaming burnout. He is currently living with burnout, so why not have a Craigervention to figure out why and how to get through it. In the family segment, Craig, Erin, and Tyler talk about their last two weeks of gaming. In the third segment, Craig is joined by Matt and Copac to talk burnout, rules frustration, and con season excitement. it's a great episode, but it's a long episode, so get to work and we'll see you on the other side.

In this episode, the SIXTY-NINTH EVER episode, Craig is joined by the over the hillier gamer, Patrick Hillier and The Host of the Boards Alive Podcast, Aaron Cassidy. As you would expect from those two guests on this, the funniest of episodes, things go off the rails. You can HEAR how red Craig gets. In the family segment, Craig, Erin, and Tyler dive into Ticket to Ride: Rails and Sails. Next episode, we're back to our usual, non-euphemism content, but for now, enjoy the silliness!

First up is the co-designer of Dead of Winter, among a bevy of other games, Jon Gilmour, and second, the host of the One Shot Podcast, James D'Amato! During their discussion, Craig, James, and Jon talk about the pains and joys of character creation, evoking emotions in games, and finding storytelling moments when surrounded by mechanics. It's a lovely discussion and we're excited James and Jon could spare some time to guest on the show. In the family segment, we finally had #eringamenight! I can not out into words how excited Erin was to have a game night of her choosing. Tyler also chimes in with several fun plays including Clank and the joy of beating Craig in way too many games.
